Types of Waste

What types of waste can I put in my skip?

You can put pretty much anything in our skips except hazardous waste.

Our skips are ideal for general garden and/or household waste, general construction waste. For example, old furniture, green waste, bricks, rubble and soil can all be disposed of safely in our skips.

Waste disposal can be a confusing business though, because some ordinary household objects you might think were perfectly harmless are in fact treated as hazardous waste, or waste that needs special consideration when being disposed of. In this situation we ask that our customers call us to make special arrangements for the disposal of their waste.

The following list of items should give you an idea of waste that requires special disposal and so should NOT be put in one of our skips without consulting us first: fridges/freezers, tyres, paint cans, TVs or monitors, asbestos, clinical/medical waste, fluorescent tubes, solvents, liquids, oil, batteries, plasterboard, hazardous/toxic material, large tree trunks.

If you’re still not sure what you can and can’t put in, just give us a call and we’ll advise you!
