What size will I need?

The size of waste disposal option you require will obviously depend on how how much waste you need to dispose of. The chart below shows the relative sizes of our various waste disposal options compared to a normal family car. This will not only give you some idea of the amount of waste each contains, but also whether you have enough space to store it safely on your site.

Please note that the following information is intended as a rough guide only - sizes may vary slightly.

 

Mini Skip

Typical Dimensions: Height 2' 6" x Length 5' x Width 4'
Mini Skips can be delivered on a smaller skip truck, so they are good for sites with limited access. It would be just possible, for example to fit a normal sized bath filled with the old tiles, wood and rubble.

Midi Skip

Midi Skip

Typical Dimensions: Height 3' 2" x Length 6' x Width 4.3'
Mini Skips can be delivered on a smaller skip truck, so they are good for sites with limited access. It would be just possible, for example to fit a normal sized bath filled with the old tiles, wood and rubble.

Builders Skip

Typical Dimensions: Height 4' x Length 12' x Width 5.6'
Builders Skips can also be delivered on a smaller skip truck, so they are also good for limited access sites. They might be typically used for a bigger job that might include a bath, cupboards and a shower cabinet for example.

Large Skip/Covered Skip

Typical Dimensions: Height 5' 3" x Length 13' 8" x Width 6'
Large Skips are the classic builder's skip that you see on building sites. If you're doing that bathroom job but also want to clear out the loft and get rid of the old sofa then you need a full-sized builder's skip, But be careful, as it might not fit on a small driveway.

Roll-On/Roll-Off Skips

Ideal for projects producing large volumes of waste. Comes in various sizes: 16yd, 20yd, 25yd, 30yd, 35yd and 40yd. Smaller, lo-sided containers are mainly used for heavy construction waste, while larger, high-sided containers are more suited to light bulky waste.

Skip Bag

Skipbags

Skipbags hold up to 1.5 tonnes of waste and are ideal for general building or household rubbish. They are available in three sizes: the MIDIBAG (1 cubic yard) holds 1 tonne; the MEGABAG (1.5 cubic yards) holds 1.5 tonnes and can take bigger and more awkward waste; the MIGHTYBAG (4.5 cubic yards) also holds 1.5 tonnes of lighter waste.

Man & Van

Vans are usually standard ‘transit' style vans, although we can supply vans of varying capacities including open-backed styles, ideal for green waste or bulky items. Call for more details.
